FAQ - Installing Fotomoto

I have installed Fotomoto, but I am not seeing the "Buy Buttons" under my image.

This means that Fotomoto is not installed correctly on your website, or there is a conflict between your code and Fotomoto's. Please see our troubleshooting instructions.

What do I need before I can use Fotomoto?

Can I use Fotomoto on my site? Where do I start?

First check our How page to see if Fotomoto works with the system you use to build your website, then click on the appropriate link to find instructions on how to install Fotomoto. You can find all the info you'll need in Getting started with Fotomoto.

Do you host my website?

No. Fotomoto is designed to be used on your existing photo website. Please see our article here for an overview of how Fotomoto works with images on your site. If you need a hosted service, please check out the list of applications that Fotomoto works with.

Do you recommend any hosting services?

Yes! Please see our How page for a list of recommended services.

Can I use Fotomoto on more than one website?

Yes! Paid subscribers can sell images on multiple websites using a single Fotomoto account. READ MORE

How do I log in to my Fotomoto account?

Go to and use the Log In button at the top right.

Can Fotomoto be used with Flash galleries?

Flash is not supported "out of the box", but with some development you can use Fotomoto with your Flash gallery. Please see our API documentation for more info.

How can I change product options for a single image?

Please see our article on How to set product and pricing options.

I signed up for a Fotomoto account but didn't get my registration email...what do I do?

First, please check to see if our account activation email got caught in a SPAM filter. If not, try resetting your password using the "Forgot Password" link at If you still aren't receiving our emails, you might have entered the wrong email address when you signed up. Please contact Fotomoto Support and we'll be happy to help.

I've lost my Fotomoto account password...what do I do?

Please visit and click the "Forgot Password" link.

Can I bulk upload my images to Fotomoto?

To get started, there is no need to upload! When someone orders a print or download, then we will need a large image file to print from. For more information please see How Fotomoto works on your site.

Does Fotomoto support languages other than English?

We realize that multiple language support is very important for our international users, but we don't support multiple languages yet.

Does Fotomoto work with password-protected private galleries?

Yes! Please see our instructions on how to allow our servers to access your private pages

Only some of the images on my site appear in my Dashboard

The Fotomoto loads images in to your Dashboard when your web page is viewed in a web browser, so try re-loading your web page and check again. so you only need to request the desired image page in your browser. Also, you'll want to make sure the height and width of your image is larger than the "Minimum width or height" setting in your Dashboard. If that doesn't help, contact Fotomoto Support and send us the address of the page that contains the image that's not in your Dashboard.

How do I remove Fotomoto from my website?

Simply remove the Fotomoto Script from your website, or if you're using the WordPress plugin, you can disable it. If you just want to remove Fotomoto temporarily, just "turn off" all of your products.

How do I remove my images from Fotomoto?

Do you offer an API?

Yes! You can read more about the API on this page. Currently we offer minimal documentation and a few samples on how to use the API, so if you have questions, please post them in our Community Forum.
