How do I install Fotomoto on WordPress?

Last Updated: Feb 08, 2017 02:17PM PST

Important! Before you begin...

  1. You will need a Fotomoto account - if you don't already have one you can sign up here.
  2. Fotomoto can not be used on wordpress.com sites - you need to have the WordPress application variety where you can add a Plugin.
  3. Fotomoto works with most any WordPress Theme, but this depends on the libraries/plugins used to display your images. We highly recommend using one of the themes listed on our How page; if you plan to use a different theme, please see this article.

Note: The API Mode option is provided for advanced users/developers who want to use the Fotomoto API for more over how Fotomoto runs.

The Enable Fotomoto Multiuser is provided for "community" sites to allow each WordPress user to use Fotomoto with their own separate accounts.

For the majority of Fotomoto users, both of these options should remain disabled.

  4. Set options for your gallery

See this article on how to set up Fotomoto in your Gallery.

Note: If you use a JavaScript library to display your images in a lightbox, slideshow or other otherwise, you'll need to select the appropriate Script Library in your Fotomoto Dashboard - see this article. Fotomoto Buy Buttons may not work with your library if it's not in the list of libraries that work with Fotomoto.

  5. Success!

The Fotomoto Buy Button toolbar should now appear under every image on your Wordpress site. Next, you'll want to read our article "I've installed Fotomoto - now what?".

If you don't see the Buy Buttons by the images, please see this article.
