What is the PayPal "maximum pre-approval limit" setting?
When you use Fotomoto's automatic order processing (see How to change your Order Processing method), you can charge your printing and shipping costs to your PayPal account. For your security, PayPal requires us to allow you to set a "maximum pre-approval limit" which will create a pre-approval in PayPal and sets the maximum cumulative amount that Fotomoto can charge to the pre-approval.
How do you set the "maximum pre-approval limit"?
When you first connect your PayPal account to your Fotomoto account, you will select the initial pre-approval amount, choosing either $500, $1,000, $2,000 or $5,000. If you've already created your Fotomoto account, you can connect your PayPal account and set the maximum pre-approval limit on the Payment Information page.
What happens when the "maximum pre-approval limit" is exceeded or your pre-approval expires?
First please know that PayPal pre-approvals do expire. If you reach your maximum pre-approval limit or the pre-approval expires, any Fotomoto orders that come in will not process automatically and the status of the orders will be "Paid". To move the order forward you'll need to manually pay the printing and shipping costs for each order:
- Go to the order detail page.
- Assuming you want Fotomoto to fulfill the order, select "I want Fotomoto to process this order for me" and follow the prompts to pay for the printing and shipping.
How to create a new "maximum pre-approval limit"?
- Log in to your Fotomoto Dashboard, click the "Welcome [your name]" menu and select "Payment Information" from the drop-down menu.
- Click the orange [Disconnect] link to disconnect your PayPal account.
- You may receive an email notice from PayPal that your pre-approval has been canceled.
- Click the Connect with PayPal button and re-connect your account - this will set up a new pre-approval in PayPal.
- You're done! On success you will again see "Your PayPal account [your PayPal account email] has been connected."
